Most of our appointments are released for booking from 08:00 each day. However we also have some pre-bookable appointments which can be booked up to four weeks in advance.
You may request the clinician of your choice subject to availability. However, in order to comply with directions from the Department of Health to ensure that patients are seen by a health professional within 24 hours or by a GP within 48 hours this may not always be possible.
You will need to make a separate 10 minute appointment for each person. Please note that it may only be possible to deal with one problem per appointment. However, if the clinician wishes to see you again he or she may book a further appointment from the consulting room.
When you contact us to make an appointment, the Receptionist will ask for brief details of the problem. This is under the instruction of the GP partners and is very important in order to deal with each patient contact in the most appropriate way and to allocate the most appropriate appointment by sign posting patients to the best person to see them.
We are now offering online 'appointment booking' with doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants. In order to access these appointments you will need to apply for a unique username and password by completing our online registration form. This can be obtained from reception. You will need two forms of identification, one to have a photograph. Registered users can click on this link to book online .
'Emergencies Only' Drop In Clinic
We have set up a daily 'Emergencies Only' Drop In Clinic which will come into effect once all of the routine appointments have been allocated. You are advised to ring surgery first to check if bookable appointments are available. There will be an automated message on the telephone once the bookable appointments have been filled to capacity informing patients that there will be a Drop In Clinic. Patients will need to report to the reception desk between 3pm and 4pm to register for the clinic and will be seen in order of clinical need and NOT necessarily in order of arrival. Demand for this clinic can vary from day to day hence waiting time for consultation can be variable too. We appreciate your patience.
Home visits are strictly for patients whose illness and medical condition prevent them from attending the surgery. Please telephone before 11:30am if you think you need a visit.
Text Reminder Service
The practice is now utilising a text reminder service for all appointments. This consists only of the date and time of any appointment that you have booked with us. If we have a mobile contact telephone number on a patient record we will text this number with the reminder. It is therefore very important to keep us updated with your correct contact telephone number. Patients can also cancel any appointment by replying to the text service without the need to contact the surgery by telephone! This service is also used for inviting patients for medication reviews, flu vaccinations and gathering patient information such as smoking status etc. Patients may ‘opt out’ of this service by informing a member of the reception team.
Our clinicians are contactable at any time during normal surgery hours via reception who will pass on any specific queries and you will receive an appropriate response as soon as practicably possible.
In an emergency for example chest pain call an ambulance on 999.
The surgery offers appointments Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30 pm—7:00 pm. These appointments are booked by the doctors themselves.
Please note that the surgery will close at 1pm on the second Wednesday of each month for staff training.
